High Performance Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer
The thinkRF R6000 is a high-performance real-time spectrum analyzer designed for today’s demanding spectrum monitoring needs. Its compact form factor delivers lab-grade performance covering 9 kHz to 8 GHz with 100 MHz instantaneous bandwidth.
Advanced super-heterodyne radio design, high-speed Ethernet and USB 3.0 connectivity, and integrated GNSS combine to enable accurate, real-time analysis with precise location and time-stamping of every capture.
The thinkRF R6000 is well-suited for field deployments and remote monitoring across a wide range of applications including regulatory compliance, signals intelligence (SIGINT), and RF scanning.
Secure Wireless Detection
The thinkRF R6000 is designed to support wireless security applications including Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT). Its enhanced scan rates allow users to sweep across wide frequency ranges rapidly, detecting transient and brief signals that traditional spectrum analyzers typically miss.
This capability is critical for TSCM operations where detecting eavesdropping devices and unauthorized transmissions is paramount. The speed at which the thinkRF R6000 operates enables security teams to sweep environments more effectively, protecting the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.

Built-in GNSS/GPS
The thinkRF R6000 synchronizes positional and temporal information with signal data, giving users a complete map of the signal environment with every measurement. Timestamps are captured with ±5 ns resolution, enabling precise geolocation and timing applications.
GPS and GNSS data is embedded directly into VITA-49 VRT data packets, enabling seamless correlation between RF measurements and geographic coordinates in downstream analysis tools.
Networked and Remote Deployable
The thinkRF R6000 is designed for networked deployment, supporting time-synchronous spectral measurements across distributed sensor arrays. This enables emitter location, direction finding (DF), and propagation study applications across wide geographic areas.
Geolocation measurements can be performed using time-based techniques (Time Difference of Arrival – TDOA) or power-based techniques (Received Signal Strength – RSS), depending on deployment requirements.
Multi-unit synchronization is supported via two methods: GPS for outdoor deployments, and a 10 MHz reference in a master-slave configuration for indoor deployments or environments where GPS is unavailable.

SWaP Compact & PC-Driven
The thinkRF R6000 connects to standard PCs via Ethernet or USB 3.0, offering flexible connectivity options for lab, field, and mobile deployments. Its compact, lightweight, and power-efficient design makes it well-suited for use in remote locations or vehicles including trucks, cars, military vehicles, UAVs, and boats.
Unlike traditional bulky spectrum analyzers, the thinkRF R6000 delivers professional-grade performance in a form factor that fits any deployment scenario.
APIs & Protocols Proven Integrations
The thinkRF R6000 supports integration with custom applications and third-party software through three open APIs:
● SCPI – instrument control compatibility with standard test automation frameworks
● VITA-49 VRT – standardized data streaming with embedded GNSS metadata
● LibTRF – robust, multi-platform C/C++ library for direct hardware access and custom application development
thinkRF’s application ecosystem provides additional partner software options tailored to specific project requirements across TSCM, SIGINT, drive testing, and spectrum monitoring applications.
