Telecommunications expert provides industry insight as ThinkRF extends its 5G solutions
ThinkRF Corp., the leader in software-defined spectrum analysis solutions, has appointed Mike Galvin to its Board of Directors. Mike Galvin is a telecommunications industry veteran with more than 30 years’ experience in BT PLC. He has been responsible for the design, deployment and management of some of the largest networks in the UK.
“With new 5G standards being deployed and tested, they require RF equipment that supports higher frequency and bandwidth capabilities,” said Jim Roche, President and CEO of ThinkRF. “We see a unique opportunity for ThinkRF to move the industry forward by developing spectrum analysis platforms to address this critical need. Mike’s expertise will be invaluable as we deepen our reach into our target markets.”
As Managing Director in BT PLC, Mike led key national initiatives including the rollout of BT’s fibre network, and the nationwide delivery of high-speed internet for the UK. He spearheaded BT’s internationally respected research division. A telecommunication engineer and specialist in broadband networks, he has worked at the board level, with governments and in leadership positions in technology, innovation and research.
